This 1920s shotgun in Old Algiers was full of potential—it just needed the right vision and a thoughtful approach to bring it forward. I was tasked with redesigning the entire home to better suit modern living while honoring its historic charm.

One of the biggest transformations was the layout. I relocated the kitchen to the front of the home, creating a more functional and welcoming flow. The former kitchen, tucked toward the back, became the perfect location for the new primary suite.

To complete the suite, I combined a small bathroom and an existing laundry room—both once positioned off the kitchen—and reimagined them as a spacious, modern master bathroom.

The finished space features a freestanding tub set inside the shower enclosure, a double vanity for everyday ease, and hand-painted vintage tile that adds character and warmth. The result is a master retreat that feels both fresh and timeless—designed with function, style, and soul in mind.
